I’ve recently started playing Professor Layton and it’s such a great game, I needed to pay a tribute, so here it is!

About Professor Layton

I’ve actually tried playing this game multiple time for a year or two; I started with the Curious village, but I kept giving up after 30 minutes. I thought the game was kinda boring. Oh, boy was I wrong!

It’s not stellar storytelling, but it’s not bad, once the plot really starts. The curious village isn’t my favorite, but it’s my first entry, so I’ll take that as an inspiration for this illustration.

About the Illustration

Like with all of my illustration, I went by the book with this one; starting with a rough sketch to get an idea of what I’m gonna draw, how I’m gonna do it, the composition, the background etc.

I knew from the beginning that it was gonna be doodle heavy. Then I “inked” the illustration, put the “base” colors and followed with the shadows.

But I feel like I could have done more. It feels a bit plain, I should have messed around with perspective more, just to make it more visually appealing. Maybe next time!
